December 2007 Jason and Tricia Bowles
-- Press Release --
New Works from Jason and Tricia Bowles
Root Art Center will show new works by Tricia and Jason Andrew Bowles, Dec. 7th through Dec 28th 2007. Both artists work with many mediums, including paint, graphite, charcoal, and other found objects. They create artwork at their Mount Vernon home and studios at a building they recently purchased in Fredericktown.
The two artists explore different themes through their artwork. Tricia Bowles sees her pieces as marking the days, similar to how a prisoner marks the days on the wall. Jason Andrew Bowles' artwork revolves around "The Grandsons of Mount Vernon" a group of guys that have grow to be good friends after attending MVNU. The work is based on portraiture and each portrait is of a "Grandson".
Tricia and Jason Andrew Bowles recently purchased the large warehouse in Fredericktown as well as being married in Sept. of this year. They are both looking forward to working on the space, eventually starting an Artists Residency program, Open Fluxus Foundation. Artists from all over can come together to develop their artwork with an intensive community of working artists.
