The 1920′s was a time of prohibition, speakeasies,
and famous high profile gangsters.
People like Al Capone, “Bugs” Moran, and “Lucky” Luciano.
This was a very inspiring time period visually,
with such things as Flappers, Zoot suits, and Tommy Guns.
The Twenties was a decade filled with individuals and
icons who have inspired the rebellious attitudes and
styles of millions.
The 1920′s, more aptly referred to as The Roaring 20′s
was a very prosperous time for America, until the
Great Depression hit in 1929.
The art department at Mt. Vernon High School is proud to invite you to the “End of the Year Art Show” compliments of Andy and Katie Lane at the Root Art Center.
Sarah Weinstock, a Columbus artist, is featured at Root Art Gallery for the month of May with an artist reception Fri., May 1st from 6-9pm. Weinstock’s work encompasses the push and pull between 2 or more objects/substances and the relationships that lie in the interactions.
Opening Reception April 3rd 2009 from 6 – 9 pm. Come check out the work of Henry Brown, Keyaira Daniel, and Stefan Gunn! The show runs through April 24th so if you don’t get a chance to come to the opening you can stop in Monday thru Friday from 10am – 6pm to see the show.
